VINTAGE: It's All About the Taste

I created this mural for L.A.'s "It's All About The Taste" branding at The Camden Bar, located on Jalan Cikini near Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta Pusat. Cikini is an administrative village in the Menteng district of Indonesia, where many expatriates work and live.

The mural has a vintage, rustic look, but not to shabby.
Despite heavy rain and other minor obstacles, like having to clear the area each day before the bar opened at 5 pm, I managed to finish the entire mural process within a week. The L.A. vintage signage looks great in the afternoon with the lights on, blending nicely with the atmosphere.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TASTE
This is the slogan of The L.A. brand. Whether you prefer it clean and sleek or a bit rough, it's all about personal taste. The mural is dominated by a black background and a yellow bar logo, with the L.A. red logo still catching the eye.
RUSTICATION PROCESS
I call this finishing stage "rustication." It's a step for achieving a vintage look. Anything can be used; here, I used scrap materials, a screwdriver, and pliers to scratch the plaster wall. This step needs to be repeated several times, including spraying over the paint, to get natural aging look.
